Hanwha Defense believes that if tasks are properly planned and performed, all work-related injuries, illnesses and environmental incidents can be averted. We are committed to building and implementing a proactive and systematic SHEC management system to achieve our vision.
SHEC Policy

We at Hanwha are committed to building and implementing a
preemptive and systematic SHEC management system to achieve this vision.

In particular, we

  • 1.Strongly believe that when tasks are properly planned and executed, all work-related injuries, illnesses, and environmental incidents can be prevented;
  • 2.Ensure that the safety, health, and environment of our employees, business partners, customers, visitors, and community always come first;
  • 3.Ensure that all our managing personnel exercise visible leadership that demonstrates commitment to and a sense of responsibility for SHEC management;
  • 4.Do not undertake a task unless it can be done safely;
  • 5.Uphold the principle of integrity with an uncompromising commitment to SHEC;
  • 6.Consider the short- and long-term impacts of our operations on SHEC, and include in our business plan measures to minimize any adverse impacts;
  • 7.Ensure that our management has a good knowledge of SHEC for proper decision-making on SHEC-related issues and that all our people clearly understand and fulfill their roles and responsibilities regarding SHEC management;
  • 8.Provide a safe working environment for our employees and business partners, customers, visitors, and other stakeholders and guide them to understand and comply with our SHEC management policy;
  • 9.Establish an SHEC management system in compliance with relevant standards, laws, and other requirements, and ensure our employees and business partners comply with it;
  • 10.Set measurable goals and objectives in compliance with the SHEC management policy and prepare an SHEC management plan to achieve them effectively and efficiently;
  • 11.Disclose our SHEC management performance transparently and strive to continually improve our SHEC management system;
  • 12.Ensure risks are identified, assessed, and managed to their lowest possible level, if not eliminated entirely;
  • 13.Strive to minimize our environmental impact by reducing pollution and using energy and resources efficiently;
  • 14.Become a valued community member that creates lasting benefits through job and business opportunity creation, investment, and local procurement efforts and foster positive relationships with our communities by respecting their cultures, values, traditions, beliefs, and rights;
  • 15.Provide a channel through which our employees and stakeholders are able to communicate freely about any of our management activities that may impact SHEC as well as guarantee their participation;
  • 16.Establish emergency response plans for all possible events and conduct regular exercises for emergency preparedness.
